So i basically reverse engineered some Small 6502 Assembly Code for research as i wanna remake the entire Thing in x86 Assembly and wanted to ask as to would Licnese would be most appliceable to such Cases? >.> Mostly due to the Fact that Public Domain Code is usealy not Good as depending where you live it can mean anything or can even be illegal from what ive read in some Country? D: I suppose the best bet would be something like MIT-0 or maybe even LGPL considering im translatating the Code from another Language to a different one? >.> But im still unsure if that counts a Derivative or what a Translation even can be licensed at all? >.> Atleast the Copyrighted Assets have to be provided yourself from the Original Program so im in the Clear on that Front but the Code is the scariest Part as itd rather not get into Legal Trouble to be fair :(

I'm not sure if it's a growth issue, or if I'm just getting tired of it personally, but the spamming of identical URLs over multiple instances is getting out of hand. Even worse when I block one post for whatever reason, only to have to repeat the task upteen number of times because one or more users (usually one) "helpfully" post the link in every tangentially related community.

as the title says: I've now got .. perhaps a couple thousand blocked communities, while trying to keep the distractions out from my view, & seeing if I've got some community accidentally blocked ( touchscreen UI's can sometimes bork one's intent, right? ), & I want to find it & unblock it..

I'm not sure how to word this properly. I followed like 4 different Peertube communities. Looking at the Communities drop down at the top I don't know really which one is local, which one has the most users, etc. Is there a way to like add weight so that the Peertube with the most comments or something is first?

Currently, if you copy a range of cells in a spreadsheet program like LibreOffice Calc, Microslop Excel, Google Sheets, etc. and then paste into a textbox in PieFed, it will upload that as an image file representing that range of data. If that is what a user intends to do, it works great for that. But I think that more often than not, what the user actually wants to do when pasting in from a spreadsheet is for that data to be a markdown-formatted table, not an image file. I would like to see this as the default behaviour for PieFed.

Mastodon displays properly Markdown posts from other instances, but doesn't allow creating posts with it. I'm trying to fix this. I know there is glitch-soc, but I don't want to switch to a fork for a single feature. So is there a patch for mainstream Mastodon that adds this functionality?

I’m trying to understand how PieFed’s voting culture is different. I’ll admit, I usually upvote things I like and downvote the rest. Sometimes, if a post has a low score, I don't even read the title, I just downvote and move on. I suspect I’m not the only one who does this.

Is it possible to listen to music hosted on Funkwhale from Mastoson (or any other fediverse social media for that matter)? I can see user accounts (though empty), but I couldn't get albums or songs working.

Is there a tool that automates transferring of blocks from a Lemmy account to a Piefed account? I'm one of those people that curates All and have thousands of blocked communities so it's not feasible to manually transfer that.
