A post for all the comments we don't see

byEver experienced the beauty of Lemmy automagically refreshing when a new comment is posted?
It just came to mind how many duplicative comments that feature has prevented.
Thanks for this small quality of life boost, and since it might be my only post like this for a while, thank you to all those making this place work 🙇♂️ you’re either bringing your IQ or EQ here (or more likely both), keep it up!
Do any iOS apps have this auto-refresh feature? I can’t say I’ve ever noticed it in voyager.
Voyager iOS is where I noticed it!
Oh!? Maybe I just haven't been paying close enough attention then. To be fair I rarely read fast moving posts.
Mlem gives you an “outdated/refresh“ modal button. I’ve only noticed it in the inbox though.
Meanwhile I'm here laughing in Jerboa. No fancy auto refresh for me.
I'm probably overdue for checking out other lemmy apps.
I'm on Boost, but should probably look at Voyager.
Thunder and Voyager are two very popular options both available for Android and iOS. I use Thunder myself, with Voyager as my backup in case anything ever happens to Thunder the way it did with Liftoff and Raccoon.
Wait what happened with Raccoon? I recently switched to it after finally giving up on the Sync dream.
The dev gave up on it due to too many entitled demands from users or something from what I remember.
ETA: Try Thunder as well. Raccoon was my backup for it back then.
Oh interesting. I just saw it was recently updated so I went with it. I'll have to look into what's going on with it though.
Thanks for the Thunder suggestion. This thing seems really solid.
Maybe they picked it up again. Or we're talking about different Raccoons. Either way, good to have a fallback and Thunder has been great.
I wouldn't mind paying a small amount to a dev who's app pulls in ALL fedi feeds. Donation or otherwise.
Considering how Reddit for the past few years has refused to play nice with Firefox to the point it eats posts and comments? Lemmy immediately effectivly confirming a thing went through feels nice.
